Wines

Chateau La Roche du Gaby 2002

Organic in practice if not certified. Château La Roche du Gaby is typically a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, producing a superbly rounded wine with black fruit characteristics and a hint of cinnamon and vanilla. This is very impressive and offers excellent value.

Rose Champagne Marguet

Benoît Marguet-Bonnerave is devoted to organic viticulture and fascinated by the mechanics of vinification. It has a wonderful, subtle, strawberryish nose and a fresh, delicate flavour. The finish is long and dry.

Chateaux Bastor-Lamontagne 2003

This wine provides further proof, if any were needed, of the fantastic quality of the sumptuous 2003 Sauternes. Aromas of pineapple, honey and lemon are replicated on the concentrated palate and lifted by fresh acidity. An impressive wine in every sense.

Riesling Burgreben - Baron de Hoen 2007

Burgreben, 7 ha, Beblenheim. Legend has is that Louis the German (grandson of Charlemagne) introduced this wine to the region. When the Lord Mayor of London invited the Queen of England, he offered her a Riesling. Description: Bright straw in colour with a fresh and airy nose of lemon notes. Full, clean, dry, lively, light, exemplary, sapid with a mineral point.
Drink at: 8-9 degrees. Best with: Charcuteries, shellfish, turbot, pork, beef with sauce, crayfish, dessert, lemon tart.

Sauvignon Blanc 2007 Les Cazaletes

The "terroir" - dry, stony soils and Mediterranean sea breezes - and the marriage of modernity with tradition, yield fine, stylish wines with the unique flavours of the south. With a classic grassy nose, crisp acidity and rounded citrus flavours, this benchmark wine makes a splendid aperitif and is excellent with salads and seafood.

Malma Clasico cabernet sauvignon 2005

A deeply coloured red wine, full bodied and fruity in the mouth with subtle notes of spices and chilli. Good with meat.

Pinot Noir

This is made from Bourgogne Rouge vineyards in the Côte de Nuits with some declassified village and Premier Cru wines from the Côte de Beaune. Overall it is classy, soft and succulent.

A dry, refreshing white wine with aromas of cassis and grapefruit.

Menetou Salon 2005

Morogues is a Sancerre commune in Loire, which can append its name to the Menetou-Salon appellation. This wine is blend of different parcels of Sauvignon Blanc from the commune of Morogues that yield a fine balance of grape variety and terroir. Very vivid on the nose, with mineral, stoney and green grass aromas. Fairly firm acidity , balanced by a crisp fruitiness. A very well-made, reliable wine.

Graves - Château Ferrande 2007

Light straw in colour with a complex nose of citrus and white fruits with a mineral soft finish. Drink at: 8 degrees. Best with: salmon, duck magret.
