I haven't checked back through my emails yet but didn't ever read one regarding changes to the discount code csv?

It appears a start date field had been added causing all the elements to be moved along in the feed, so previously the expiry date field was a 3 and now a 4 (and so on...)

This caused every single webgains code in our system to take on the expiry date of the start date, so either all auto expired or distributed with wrong expiry dates.

We have now alterd our coding to work with the new elements, but would have liked to have been contacted prior to such drastic alterations.

Apologies if I missed the communication but it should have been essential that we were made aware of it.

I wish you had been round about at one o'clock this morning, when I was drastically trying to the correct the dud feed!! I don't think there is any consideration to the user.. Like you say, it could have been in an email but I certainly didn't see it..

Sorry for chewing your head off this morning.. I actually thought that someone had vandalised the feed..

lol, Yeah was a bit of a stressful start to the day :-)

I knew it was either a bug at our end or changes at webgains end as soon as I read your complaint, because if someone had tried to sabotage our feed by altering the expiry dates they would have auto corrected themselves to what was in the network feed, but as the network feed was altered then this auto correction messed everything up.

Also the newly imported codes (which go into the pending list to be tidied) containined all the fields in the wrong boxes so they got messed up aswell.. we had to dump the pending lists, do the coding alterations then re-import.

The only thing to do now is look for possible duplicates where users may have re-entered the codes thinking it wasn't included (because they were infact present but expired)

    Hi all,

Please accept our apologies for this. To be honest, I didn't even know it was changed until now. Seems it was a request from some of our affiliates to have the start date added which was pushed through.

Again, please accept our apologies for this. It's a good learning curve and we'll ensure any future column additions are communicated first and added to the end of the file.

If there's anything you need from us, please give me a shout directly.

Cheers Andy, apologies gratefully accepted :-)

The only thing I do need is for your US discount code feed to be kept up to date, can you confirm for me if this feed contains all your up to date US coupons, and is always up to date?

    us.webgains.com/newsletter/images/UScouponcodes.csv

Oh.. and while i'm at it, it would be nice if you could provide a live feed of current UK and US merchants, I have login details for the UK merchant feeds but it requires downloading manually every day.

    Cheers
