Octopusmortgages.com are a new and revolutionary financial portal specialising in the mortgage markets. Octopus mortgages are unique in the way that we are the first and only e-commerce mortgage that enables the end user to search, select and apply for every single mortgage provider in the market completely on-line.
We are unique from our competitors for a number of reasons:-
We have a list of up to 135 lenders to choose from.
A lot of our competitors only have a small panel of lender that they use due to those lenders providing the technical support for the broker to just “plug in” the application software
The consumer can apply for a mortgage with every single mortgage provider and not just the few that make it easy for the web site.
We have bypassed the lenders technical support systems and not sat on our hands waiting for all lenders to catch up to our way of thinking. Instead of waiting for them to provide design templates and compliant guidelines, we have gathered and implemented them ourselves.
There is no need to input your details and wait for a mortgage advisor to ring you back
The reason that our competitors do this is that they do not have the confidence in there mortgage wizard software. Once a user has selected a mortgage product that they want, the broker then feels that it is necessary to call the applicant and double check all the criteria. With octopusmortgages.com we have devised a wizard that asks a more comprehensive group of questions that ensures that the only deciding factor in the application process is a credit search, which can only be carried out by the lender. Our competitors line of questioning only caters for “the average” applicant. We don’t, we cater for every possible person in the u.k, for example:- we ask questions about Europian salary because there are more and more of us that get paid in Euros. Other sites let the end user to go through the search process and then deal with the salary aspect later on.
On-line account management
We have a user account management page that allows the user to save searches for a later date if they don’t find the appropriate results the first time, send and receive messages with there mortgage administrator, the end user can change there personal details, they can track the progress of there mortgage, loan or insurance applications with dailly updates from us and there solicitors. This enables us to positively advertise that we are the first and only, fully on-line mortgage broker.
Off-line marketing
Within the next 6 months we have plans to embark on a series of off line marketing programmes including mail shots, radio advertising, television advertising, newspaper ads and billboard advertising. This will ensure that within the next 18 months, we will be the most widely known mortgage consultancy in the United Kingdom.
Our on-line marketing starts here, with affiliate relationships. We will pay top commissions to the right affiliates and we are aiming to build a substantial client base from affiliate marketing. Commissions are paid on receipt of a full mortgage application. This has been done, as apposed to paying for visitors, because we feel that a lot of our users will visit us a number of times to gleen information on other parts of the market before deciding which mortgage they require. Although we expect a high conversion rate from initial search to application, we feel that a lot of consumers will use the site to change there approach to mortgage lending and therefore will visit us a few times to put together there ideal mortgage package.

Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.
If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.
Hi Keith,
As yet they are not planning on paying commissions for Insurance and Loans although it is something they will be happy to do at at a later date. In the meantime there is no problem with you deeplinking to the mortgage page.
As always the merchant welcomes feedback.
Thanks
They also need to employ someone to check their spelling - their terms and conditions (and indeed the whole site) are littered with spelling and grammar errors - they may be 'possotive' but I'm positive!! - lol
