TVCables leaving due to Webgains Incompetence

Dear all,

We are closing the Webgains program due to a total lack of performance and a recent event that I would class as gross incompetence.

I would be grateful if those affiliates that would like to continue with our program please move over to Affiliate Window.

Thanks,
Andy.

Webgains is quite respected with most people, maybe just moving without the comments would of served the same purpose? Just an idle thought

Since you've raised the matter on a public forum you should either back that up or withdraw it.

Since you asked I am happy to provide details:-

The poor performance is an average daily sale of 36 pence, over the last 3 months. Our other networks have no such performance issues and perform exceedingly well.

My accusation of Gross Incompetence is because they emailed the whole affiliate base suggesting they remove links to our site because it was down when it was working fine.

The site was not down, I have proof of that. Despite many requests they cannot provide any proof of the site being down, I have requested trace route reports that show the last hop available to the site, however they have no such information. We know the site was up because it was accepting orders all day when they decided it was down.

Rather than accepting responsibilty for their mistake, apologising and emailing the affiliate base to put the matter right, they choose to continually argue with us about it by email, yet cannot back anything up they claim about the site being down.

As they are unwilling to rectify the matter we have decided to terminate our contract with them and will concentrate on the other networks we use.

Andy.

Having read that lot i still stand by my earlier comment, the fact that webgains do email us when sites are down is testimant to them, i rarely get emails from other networks. Had they not done a thing then you would of been perfectly happy.

With regards to performance, webgains provide a platform for you to operate an affiliate scheme. They are not an agency contracted to do a job, they are an affiliate network, performance rests with you and as such you are not performing on the webgains network, i am guessing you are spreading yourself a little thin for what is quite a niche online business going with so many networks rather than building with the ones you have.

Whilst performance may be an issue for you i fail to see how their actions is this is gross incompetance as you describe it. If anything it puts me off ever promoting you than it does not using webgains...sorry, just an opinion

If the site was never down then they should have issued an email saying they made an error imho.

Re: Gross Incompetence
Sites being up or down depends on so many criteria but at the end of the day your site will never be visible to all of the people all of the time even if your server is up and some people can get to it.
As an affiliate, I'd rather being informed there's a potential problem accessing a site than not. I rarely remove links on this information and since your sales rates are so low it frankly wouldn't make any difference to you or me whether I removed them or not and it seems a weak reason to leave a network when the questions you need to be asking are why was your program not performing - especially if you are performing on other networks.

Any road up you say you have no performance issues and perform exceedingly well with other networks. What are these other networks and what's your epc with them?

If you really want to work with affiliates you're in the right place.
What can you offer us and what can we do to promote your products?
