Call me daft/naive but I've only just realised that you can 'switch sites/campaigns' in Webgains. And now I've just read I have to reapply to all programs for the new site.
Previously I've applied for several programs on Site A and used them on Site A and Site B. Does it mean that they won't work on Site B? I will reapply for the programs for Site B, but would the tracking have been affected at all?
Also, on AW, I have several sites in the 'promotion' box like it tells me to. Am I therefore allowed to use merchants I've joined on any of those sites?
Sorry if questions are daft, I've only just started building new sites

I really don't think it matter that you are using site A links on site B, (unless someone else knows otherwise), I think its just for the reporting so that you can breakdown commissions to a particular site. Must admit I haven't tried though, i`ve always set up different sites from day 1.

With Affiliate Window, you can definately use the same tracking on all your sites.

    Hi Phil,
in our system, you can list your sites as separate campaigns and switch between them from the left corner drop down menu to log in to each one. For stats, you can run reports for each one separately, or combine them for overall performance. Listing your sites is entirely up to you - it gives you more accurate reporting, as each site will have its own unique campaignID and you can apply to join merchants only with the relevant sites, giving them more visibility so as to help you more effectively. Also, all commissions from your various campaigns are collated in one payment for your affiliate account.
You don't need to have the separate campaigns however, using the tracking code from one campaignID on all your sites will track in exactly the same way, but with all reporting on the sole campaign.

You may also want to have a look at the Affiliate Guide in the Help section of your account for further information on this matter.

    thanks

Thanks for your replies, that clears things up I've already applied and reapplied to programs on the separate campaign now, so I suppose that will help with stats.

Aye, I had a look but I couldn't find clarification on whether or not you had to have a different campaign for each new site eg. because maybe merchants would be happy being on Site A but not Site B.

It's not compulsory to list all your sites and it's not compulsory to apply for the site you'll be promoting them on (especially for some affiliates who have dozens of sites, that would be nightmare). It does however give better visibility to the merchant to assess your application, helps them understand you better and give you much more accurate & relevant support & information.
