Just looking at this program and while its great golfballs.co.uk have joined up with webgains, the PPC policy is way too restrictive.

PPC Policy: Please refrain from bidding on the following terms including any variations or misspellings: Golfballs.co.uk Golf-balls.co.uk Golf Balls Cheap Golf Balls Discount Golf Balls Discounted Golf Balls Personalised Golf Balls Logo Golf Balls Corporate Golf Balls Golf Bags Golf Towels Golf Caps Lake Balls
I can understand protecting Golfballs.co.uk and Golf-balls.co.uk but surely the other terms such as golf balls and cheap golf balls should be open for anyone to use ????

    Hi Adrian,

Thank you for your feedback on the PPC policy for the program. I have sent the merchant the link to this thread and have asked that they may rethink some of these restrictions on the program.

I will let you know the outcome and if you need anything else, please let me know.

We have a reasonably comprehensive Golf Ball keyword database which has been sitting on standby for a few weeks, trying to find the right quality merchant which doesn't have silly restrictions on generic terms or display url restirctions. Though we realise it maybe quite competitive in this space, assistance in promoting the right merchant would be appreciated.

    Hi Emma,

Just wondering if you have heard anything back from the merchant?

    Thanks

    Hi Adrian,

Yes, Golfballs.co.uk are open to make some changes to their PPC policy I believe. They are just going over the details. I sent them the rest of the posts from this thread to help them make their minds up. I guess it is difficult when the merchant wants to restrict their name and it is very generic, such as this. I'll let you know once we have a concrete decision. Thanks for your patience.

    Hi Adrian,

Apologies for not getting back to you for so long with regards to the PPC policy for this program.

The merchant has revised their ppc policy to reduce the number of restricted keywords. So the keyword restrictions are these:

    Golfballs.co.uk
    Golf-balls.co.uk
    Golfballs

Thanks for your patience in this matter. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.
