Free white label, easy to install office supplies site!

I understand that office supplies may not be the most interesting sector for affiliates - you're more likely to put your time and efforts on B2C stuff. That is why I've spent the last couple of weeks developing an out-of-the-box office supplies website absolutely free for affiliates of The Retail Factory.

It includes The Retail Factory product feed, the site framework and an admin panel to edit and customise the site as much as you like. You can see a very basic demo of the site here.

It is extremely easy to install and takes less than 10 minutes:

• Download the package here (includes product feed)
• Extract it to where you want it to live
• Fill in your database details in the file called connect.php
• Upload
• Point your web browser to www.yourdomain.com/admin/install.php

Then let the site do the hard work of building the tables, installing the product feed and creating your new website!

If you have an office supplies related domain hanging around doing nothing, want to extend your site to include office supplies or just fancy giving it a go with a new domain purchased specifically, please do download it and give it a shot!

Stuff you can do with the site:

• Brand with your own logo
• Change basic design features
• Change themes easily (as soon as I make some more )
• Add copy and featured products to homepage
• Add new Pages with content, articles, whatever you like - add value by adding new Pages!
• Track click throughs
• Track searches
• Track sales using Webgains callback feature
• Add promotional banners that we give you easily
• Edit category descriptions for extra optimisation
• Add extra header and footer information such as tracking codes, favicons etc with ease
• Rewrite URLs
• Cloak affiliate links
• Add extra stuff to sidebar

Your affiliate ID is automatically attached to all product links and promotional banners!

You can download in 10 minutes and leave it alone or download it in 10 minutes then spend a night or two playing around with the features and building it into a unique office supply affiliate site!

I'll have a better play around with it later on today when time permits.

Just a quick question Phil:

Is the default feed (install feed) a full feed of the website? As I didn't spot any ink cartridges (but am in a hurry today - so not looked properly).

Thanks for downloading it, it looks really great and I'm very pleased it went without a hitch :tup

As for the feed, it isn't a complete feed at the moment. There should be a new, fuller feed in a couple of weeks and facilities for automatic downloading of the feed to your site.

Anyone else downloaded it/any more feedback?

Category descriptions: Some people who use this install may have minor problems with adding Category descriptions to the site. This is down to php4 servers...

The easy way around this is to host on servers with php5 enabled. If that's not possible, and your host is due to upgrade (in process of) then the following code inserted in the top of .htaccess file should do the trick. Put the code as the first line, above Options +FollowSymLinks

AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php

It worked perfect (only a few seconds to download) for me.

I used WinRar to unzip it.

It has been brought to my attention that this installion will only work on MySql environments 4.1.0 or higher. Sorry; I'll try finding a workaround but until then, are many other people affected by this?
Do let me know if you have any problems/issues/feedback etc
