Hi there,
Thanks for the feedback, we're currently reviewing several procedures relating to affiliate approval so I'll see what we can do on this front. Could you also drop me an email and I'll get you approved ASAP? Details are in my sig,
We're already working with the likes of CJ, AW, AF and TD (an industry of acronyms!) and today we applied to Webgains. Having chatted to Webgains at last year's Ad:Tech show and in preparation for a new project we were looking forward to getting started.
My first impressions is, unfortunately, very negative. I received an email within a couple of hours, which simply said:
Why not actually put a bit more information in the email itself. Otherwise I have to email them just to find out what the reason was. This adds a step (and delay) which could have been resolved had they, in their refusal email, specified what they weren't happy with.On this occasion your application has been unsuccessful for the reasons outlined below.
There is at least one irregularity in your application. If you wish to pursue this further, please email xxx quoting organisation name xxx. Thank you.
I appreciate networks get a lot of spammy applications and have a hard job of spotting the good ones, but sending out such a short, uninformative and impersonal email doesn't get things off to a good start.
Just my feedback so far - hopefully things will get better from herein!

Credit where credit is due: Kier followed up and apologised for the over zealous approval team. We are now an affiliate - thanks![]()

Hiya,
as I'm sure you can appreciate, specifying exactly what the irregularity is with each application will give fraudsters the opportunity of bypassing all our fraud control measures.
In instances where the decline was a mistake, communication between the affiliate and our support staff resolves the issue.
That said, I agree that our text isn't as it should be and we are revisiting it so it informs affiliates for further steps.
thanks

How about when they do deny applications they have the decency to reply to my emails querying their decision.
If they are going to deny so many applications why have a registration system at all?
I get the feeling they are saying "we are too good for you, we don't need your business and can't be bothered to tell you properly"
All they ask for are my personal details, what possible "irregularities" could there be??? Do they know my name & address better than me?
Another example of a company with a professional looking website but run by non-professionals in the back office.
c0pyuk, can you please forward the email you received to me - hero@webgains
thanks

Just received the same email
Thank you for your application to join webgains.
On this occasion your application has been unsuccessful for the reasons outlined below.
There is at least one irregularity in your application. If you wish to pursue this further, please email applications@webgains.com quoting organisation name "88888888888". Thank you.
Looks like a standard can't be bothered email to me
No offense, but out of curiosity - do you really expect a network (not a merchant, a network) to state you the exact reasons why your application was rejected?
As we've previously stated, we will be changing the text in the email, it's not great, we have put our hands up on this.
In the mean time, and if you want us to revisit your application, please send an email to the address provided letting us know how you're planning on promoting our programs and we will gladly have a look at your application again.
thanks

No offence taken
In all honesty, yes, even if it's a "your website doesn't look as if it would gain much traffic" surely it can't be that hard to state a reason.but out of curiosity - do you really expect a network (not a merchant, a network) to state you the exact reasons why your application was rejected?
I just hope you find the comments useful
All comments are welcomed, we take them all onboard
We reject applications if the site has inappropriate content, if the info we are provided is wrong or incomplete or if we suspect fraud. We don't reject on basis of potential, as we are here to ensure affiliates get all the help we can give them to improve their performance.
As I mentioned - drop an email to support@ or myself and we'll be happy to review the application and clarify any issues.

The text is still the same unfortunately so I have no idea why I was refused, and have had no reply to my follow ups.
