hi dave

Well I was looking into it and was talking to someone involved in online loans and he said he was paying £6 a click for a term that produces about 10 clicks a month normally on other sites (at a good conversion obviously ) and he said he wouldn't ever use them again as he had 60 clicks in one day on that term (yup £360 ) and not one resulted in a conversion...! which is strange unless the website gets money from each errm click then all becomes clearer..

That said I am probably gonna try it unless anyone else can persuade me not too... come on guys....I try not to take one recommendation as the lay of the land...need more info

espott yay or nay ? for and against?

Hi,

I'd recommend you become an Espotting advertiser, but that's
probably because I'm an Espotting publisher! :-)

Seriously, it looks like the minimum bid has gone up to
10p so many Espotting advertisers don't seem too happy!

I 'think' Overture has better anti-fraud measures in place.
Think, don't know for sure!

That probably hasn't helped,but anyway...

Steve

I have a great conversion rate with Espotting on most of my sites, better than the rest for me anyway, however Google Adwords sends more visitors for less money so it can in fact work out more cost effective even with it having the lowest conversion rate. Did you follow that LOL

Espotting can work out quite well, but you MUST be able to track the exact term and whether it converts into a sale or an action you want. If you can not do this on every term then you are probably wasting money.

A search term that works well on another search engine will not always work well on espotting and vice versa.

True, this is what I do.. as it takes longer a lot longer to set-up a campaign per word with Espotting, what I do is put a tracking in to a campaign, Espotting can tell you when the click was made and my tracking software can tell when the click was made and when it makes the sale, so then I can find the worked in my Espotting account and increase the bid if it's working well and if I get a donkey, i.e. a word that has a number of clicks and no sales I can simply remove it.

These things like PPC are only any good if you work the system, if you don't try to target and improve week on week then you might as well chuck you money up in the air

Thanks for all the feedback,

i use adwords and have settled into my niche market, i simply cannot keep up in areas like mortgages, too much money and i get kicked out. There is some other strings on the forum that are not too complimentary about espotting as they have put up their prices, are there any alternatives to them or are they worth a go anyway?

cheers

dave
