Google Adwords - Par for the course?

I set up my first Google adwords account yesterday and I have to say, I'm far from impressed. Set up at 9pm. Looked at 10pm, nothing appearing. Checked the FAQ etc. and satisfied myself that my ad SHOULD have been appearing, at least most of the time. E-mailed Google. 14 hours later - no ad, no response to my email, no clicks, nothing.

Is this level of service normal or have I caught them at a bad time? Do I have to commit to spend £10K a day before they deem me important enough to bother with?

I would say caught them at a bad time, however I have noticed the daily stats are not updating that quick, my account shows no ads and no spend today yet I am showing up on the words, so who knows what's up with that.

Very strange, I've been using Google Adwords a lot lately (since Overtures 100% price hike) and without exception all of my ads have gone live within about 1 minute of me creating them.

They must have just been having a bad day

Well, I just received an email from them saying because my spend was < the recommended maximum my ads weren't appearing all the time. I said I knew that, but zero impressions and (obviously) zero click-throughs seems somehow incorrect, especially for a keyword that previously had a 25% impression to click ratio on Overture.

I can't help thinking it's down to me as I've never used Adwords before, but I've read the FAQ 'til I'm blue in the face and everything checks out. I suppose I'll just wait another 14 hrs to see what they say...

the uk google team are very helpful..whenever we have occassionally contacted them even got some seo tips.

Maybe try recreating the adword within the campaign...I know it's a daft question but did you have the stats date range set to cover the full period.

Thanks for the offer UK Offer! I might take you up on that if I get no joy. There's a notice up saying that stats aren't updating which may be muddying the waters a little, so I'll wait and see what happens over the weekend...

Oh, and yes I checked the date range and everything! Oh well.

I've got a problem with them right now too. My credit limit is $500. Normally spend approx $350, but recently started breaking this, just.

I paid the bill recently, then only a few days after they tell me a further payment had been refused, and my account has been suspended. I check the account, and sure enough it reckons that all of a sudden my account started getting 10X as many imp/clicks.

Problem is i can find no evidence of this on Freebieholics. And i would have thought that amount of traffic, all deeplinked to targetted pages would have been noticeable.

I don't think i have much choice other than to pay the bill, but i don't think i got the traffic.

Well, no progress here. I just get a default mail every time from Google saying that my ad isn't showing up every time because my spend is below recommended budget. It's the same e-mail each time - great customer serivce. That facts that (a) my spend has been at the recommended level for 14 hrs and the ad NEVER shows up and (b) the ad has NEVER been shown in over 300 searches don't seem to make an impression on these people.

There's a dump of my screens here www.myposters.co.uk/googlearse_removesoon.jpg if anyone would be good enough to have a look and see if I'm missing anything (you'll need to click the pop-up don't-fit-to-screen button in IE6) Either I'm stupid or these Google guys are stupider.

Another thing, although the estimated spend per day was £20, the forecast spend is now £5.20. A minor matter seeing the ad has never been shown, but there you go!

here hare here,

The reporting delay may be up to date now, check from 30th Jan to 1st Feb.

Increase your bid from 4p to 5p...then return to 4p later

Increase your budget to 50% beyond their estimation.

See how far you can back-date the start date of the campaign.

For the keywords use..notice singular and plural...refer to google for "keyword" and [keyword]

"posters"
[posters]
posters
"poster"
[poster]
poster

For target countries, just try UK for the moment. As some international destinations like US or Japan may have a higher minimum bid.

Do the search on google 10 minutes later, and see if it is on pages 2, 3, 4

QGJ is right... its because you have selected multiple countries ... only select UK.
