How to get more UK visitors?

I need UK traffic to my website

I think goole adwords is too expensive, especially, if you pay the maximum bid, you pay a multiple of what you would earn.

A bid of 0.05 pence just gives me about 5 visitors per day.

It takes too long to get listed on google and it is hard to have many links, so that it is ranked high.

Yahoo is too expensive to be listed.

I do not trust does traffic-for-sale sites.

Has anyone some ideas how to get more visitors? Those traffic exhange programmes rather drain traffic and I do not like non 1:1 ratios.

You should try using more niche keywords with Google Adwords, you can get some quality traffic for the minimum bid if you're creative with the words you bid on.

Also don't give up trying to get a proper Google listing, it doesn't take that long, and it's well worth it.

As JF said, concentrate on google and SEO - it will happen for you if you spend time learning and reading up on SEO.

It doesn't take 'too longer' to get listed in google, with the right approach, you can get a full site crawled within 24 hours, and have a reasonable ranking after the dance at the end of the month, it's just knowing how to do it which is the thing to get to grips with
