Dmoz - ask to be added

If your having trouble getting added to Dmoz, try contacting an editor who is up the line from the section you want to be added to. I done this a few days ago and I got added 2 days after making contact, ok the description was not what I submitted but at least I got the site listed.

Been trying that without success for a month now. Have contacted two editors above the section I am trying to submit, and had no response from either. I'm going to keep trying one a week until I can get some response (Or run out of editors whichever is first!)

LOL well the competitions section was updated because I asked, not just my site added but loads of other people who had been waiting months for it, so it's worth your effort to keep trying.

Thanks Clarke, will keep trying. It just seems like banging your head against a brick wall - been trying to get listed since March, and I can't seem to find out why - I even manually counted all my affiliate links the other day in case it was that causing the rejections - Less than 20% are affy links.

It would be nice if they even just replied with "you're not listed because..." At least I could do something about that!

To be honest I think it's a case of not enough editors to do the section but also a case of we don't want new editors as they are all cheats.

One day I will make it to a position in the UK side of Dmoz to be able to ensure anyone here that asks will be added (following the Dmoz rules of course) I am pretty high up in the Scottish side of Dmoz and have been doing it since 1999 for fun of all reasons LOL.

If you still have no luck I will make an "editors" post about people being unhappy with the way Dmoz is just now, this will make the meta editors in the UK listen and get the "problem" area's updated of course that’s not grantee of a listing.
