  Classified Ads

Thinking of putting a classified ads section on petmag.co.uk. Reason being is there are very few affiliate programs for pet related businesses and I though this would be a good way to generate a little more income. Not yet sure how I would charge for this service though.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Jean

a lot depends on wether you want to automate the system or do it manually

There are a few classified ad scripts out there that you could bolt onto your site, some are free some cost. Some also have payment options for paypal etc.

If you wanted a manual system. You could just add a form to your website with the submission page going through to a Nochex account. If you spend less than £500 a month then this is also a free service. We use this on our eliteshops sign up for PPC entries.

You could also see how loot or autotrader do it - Large scale I know but worth a look

Hope this helps

Hi Alan

Thanks for responding. I have some free software which you can see here, but this doesn't have any means of collecting money. I have a paypal account, can I attach this to it?

I would contact the publisher

Ask him to stick on an add on and offer him a donation for his efforts

Why don't you stick a horizontal adsense bar on there until you reach a significant number of ads/traffic.

That would allow you to offer free ads until you reach 'critical mass', when you are in a better position to start charging for ads.
