are there any companys or software that we can use to submit us to thesearch engines. We are looking at getting to the the 1st pages without using ppc. is this possible

you are better off submitting youreself to all the main search engines and then sitting back and waiting and biting your nails ;-) as an example i started SEO ing a large site last September for a 5 mill+ search term, we have just got to number 3 in the last month!!! so getting number 1 except on some very low level keywords is not going to be realistic, aim for top 10 as a start point then re-evaluate AFTER you have achieved this

Thousands. However, since all you actually need is a link buillding campaign (purchased or exchanged links - doesn't matter which, both is best) I'd spend the money there. If you do it right, you can still get immediate results.

Example : We launched a brand new domain 3 weeks ago. It is currently #8 on G.com for a competitive (5 mil) prhase, and also has a clutch of page 2 positions for other competitive (15 mil +) terms

Contrary to popular myth, your participation or not in PPC has NO effect on your natural search rankings. Some people THINK they see a link, but they never seem to be able to follow the thought through, and determine the real causes...

I wouldn't think about allowing other companies to do it for you. It can cause more harm than good. Frankly, I wouldn't both doing it at all. Make sure you've got a few decent links into your site (ideally include Yahoo and Dmoz) and the search engines will find you.

I don't think the site is well optimised to spider through search engines, and wouldn't know where to start. I don't even know how to get listed on serch engines.

Your main problem is session IDs in the links on your home page. If you don't know how to fix it, hire someone who does. It shouldn't cost too much, it's a relatively simple fix

You need different titles and descriptions, relevent for each page tied in with using keywords on the pages.
Your home page and all other pages do not stand a chance in the search engines.
