The rumor goes that this thing is the best advertising Internet marketing idea of the month! And its cheap.

You make temporary tattoo stickers with your web site logo and URL. Give them for free to those who agree to put this tattoo for a while (temporary tattoo goes out in about a month) on a forehead, arm, leg, anywhere.

Then you ask people for one thing, to send you the picture of tattoo 'printed' on, with your logo&URL visible and make a photogallery. This gallery will look catchy; many forums, news engines and other web sites will agree to put it as an little 'laughing stock' for their users. You can even make this gallery a separate voting area for your users: something like 'Best Tattoo of the month' with awards.

Well, you get publicity, you get an out-of-the-line gallery, and you get attention, you get extra traffic. This is for a price of cheap temporary tattoo sticker!

I remember this (or something similar) being done by students a few years back.

they did charge a nominal fee but it was peanuts compared to other advertising costs

A great idea IMO, getting organised enough to do it is another thing. The next step below if people can't find the tatoos might be just to get them to write out a big card saying something like "I love whatever.com" in massive letters and make a gallery of people doing that.

Well, a safe way is to open Google and choose its option of 'local' search. It will give you the detailed list of tattoo makers in your vicinity and cut the delivery costs.

Am I good for a beer now? Or should I dance jigga to get it?
