freecycle has been covered in the media, including the bbc, and it has almost 2 million members. not saying you shouldn't continue with it oldtrip, just that you are up against an established site.

We're members of freecycle.
It has a few problems.

The ability to see how many item people have claimed would be fanastic - suspect there are a lot of people who sit there all day claiming free stuff - one person bragged he'd got the last 20 items on one group. Makes it less useful.

Would also like to see if people have let others down collecting stuff as agreed - have had someone let me down twice with some silly stories.

Also features that you can't just give it to the first person but you have to set a time limit waiting for replies etc

Oh god and then all the begging wanted ads!

A more moderated system could do really well if it avoids the commonly found prblems freecycle has.

PM me and I'll sort out a few links to it.
