Quick question... How is it, that a website with a higher Alexa Ranking has a lower page rank than a site with a lower Alexa Ranking??? For example ...
Example:
Website A - Alexa=100,000 - Page Rank = 1
Website B - Alexa=1,000,000 - Page Rank = 4
Say I have 25 good quality links to blue-left-handed-widgets.com its PR is going to be relatively high, but I really don't expect that many people to be searching for 'blue left handed widgets' hence low traffic, hence low Alexa rank. Furthermore, in my experience Alexa ranking can also be really skewed by the nature of the site. It only gives a true indicator on sites with huge visitor numbers. Example: small site A aimed at gerbil lovers - they are not in the main going to be downloading every extension / toolbar in the book and so won't register to Alexa : site B for techy stuff and aimed at your paranoid, want to know everything net user will have a greater % of visitors with the toolbar installed. The true indicator is whether your server based stats are going up or down.
