Should i pay for page ranking in the search engines?

I have noticed that i can pay to have my website URL submitted for a fee differant fee for differant rankings, is it worth doing this or should i try optimising rankings other ways? not that i know how to yet!

How about pay ppc, which is best i am a little confused

Getting natural search engine positions takes months, so if you aren't prepared to wait, consider using PPC.

I second that. It takes time and a comprehensive program to get good natural serps. It took me two years to really start to understand (us Lincolnshire lads are a bit slow on the uptake) then BAM! All of a sudden everything just clicked into place.

So basically work my ass off trying to get better links and no joy for a couple of years and then boom become a millionaire overnight, i wish lol

Or pay like mad on ppc to get people to my affiliate referall site?

Best get joining a few forums and stuff then, but of cause no spamming, they dont like that do they?

Remember that the Google Adwords algorithm also counts click through rate, so if you monitor this closely and tweak your adds, you can start to get higher for less money. If it's a competitive area, you'll need deep pockets to succeed with PPC.

From my experience it is well worth paying to get a link or two to your site from some other well-ranked websites. Google ranks your page according to how many respected websites link to it (plus a few other factors!!!). You can contact a website that you'd like to have a link from, and ask them if they'll allow your link on their website. Or just go to somewhere like DigitalPoint and buy links from people who want to sell them.

I found that the traffic from Google to my website increased dramatically once I got some links from some other people's webpages that were already ranked well in google (ranked PR6). The effect took about 2 weeks to kick-in.
