  eCommerce website optimization

Hi,

I am working on an e-Commerce website. I need some tips from Search Engine Optimization point of view. I am facing problem with URL's. Suppose a reebok shoes is present in our website.
There are different situations comes here:
1. That particual shoes is present under brand category (URL is based on brand here)
2. That particular shoes is present in some hot deals (Here URL is based on hot deals)

That means if we see our breadcrumb navigation its looks like
Parent Category -> Sub Category -> Brand Name -> Product Name
Parent Category -> Sub Category -> Special offers -> Product Name

In the above scenario we got 2 different URL's with same product and that page has same description. In case of a large website of ecommerce, even we cannot generate different sets of content for the same product.

Please share your valuable ideas and experiences here.

Thanks

I dont see any problem in generating two sets of breadcrumbs for the same product. it depends if you are generating URL's based on your catagory tree in the database of the user navigation path which some sites generate it in real time based on user behaviour.

if you wish to keep one then use the category tree breadcrumbs structure becuase you may have speical offers, hot offers, alternative offers etc which would create similar problems. In that scenario also keep BACK Button for users if last visited page was some special offers page.

Hope that makes sense..

Thanks..

Thank you Addel for your valuable feedback. But I am worried about the so many duplicate URL's. Because In the above scenario, we will present same content on so many different URL's and that will create problem in SERP ranking stability.

On the hot deals page will you be presenting Title, Picture, Buy and Description?

You could present it like this;

Picture, Title, Buy Now / More Information where the more information links to your product page and gives a description, reviews / content.

I'm guessing hotdeals page will be changing regularly to whats hot right now so google won't be updating and recrawling that page everyday.

Alternatively you could block google crawling your hotdeals page, and list on your product page:

Hot Deals Package Available For Product X.
