Really Really Really nice!
About getting a user base? Why not contact a couple of the forum members who work for the networks and see what they can do for you with regard to putting you in touch with some of the heavy hitting affiliates who can refer users to you for a fixed fee ( if you can stretch to a quid or two per referral (transacting) then you could find that it is very cheap at the price in the long run.
I worked on a similar project (not site) a while back and the merchant is now a leading player in their field because they were willing (it didn't half cost them by the way) to shell out on building a user base. They also went the way you have gone too by offering xxquid for the “refer a friend” benefit and that worked extremely well.
At first glance you appear to have designed/developed to attract the 18 to 24 demographic, so where are your big shiny (gadgety) prizes. Get them up there, high on the page, and make sure they're quality - you've obviously spent a fortune on development so dip into the budget now to get the visitors attention.
Also on this forum you will find webmasters of freebie sites who can drive traffic like you just wouldn't believe. The trick with them is not to expect anything for nothing. Give them some extra nice stuff to offer their users in exchange for clicking through to you and you will be amazed at the results you can get.
I wish you well with it - it looks and works really nice.
