Banner Space To Fill - Which Network?

I run a social networking site and have banner space to fill on it. I have tried out Accelerator (part of E Type) and Adrevenue but neither have performed how they said they would (CPM rates way below their promised rate and serving banners which we arent getting paid for).

All i want to do is server RON banners, get about 30pCPM and not have any issues with anything.

Any ideas?

This is just my personal view and my experience with banners. I have used them on many different occasions.

These days as a general rule of thumb surfers are fully aware of banners and tend not to click on them. Their success is generally inflated by a few of these companies that tend to quote banner impressions rather than clicks. (To those companies that read this it is not a dig at you Im just quoting my experiences)

Your advertising may be better served using contextual advertising or text based advertising. I think this performs slightly better.

There is the option of creating a mix of your own affiliate banners/text ads and adding them to your space. I tend to create my own banners as the ones that affiliate companies provide you with appear across hundreds of sites. I do get their permission to do this first though!

How big is your network?

Now that is the question... from late June, early July I will be embarking on a branding excercise and am always willing to have a chat with guys such as yourself.

Perhaps you could publish some traffic stats and a bit more detail on what type of network you actually control and we could have a PM

Hey chrisflux,

Just noticed your thread - depending on your site you may get better CTR from other forms of links as mentioned by strayman so it really depends on why you were interested in selling space on a CPM basis. However as an agency we sell advertising space on a few of our merchants sites and always use Adviva - their system is pretty straightforward to use, it's easy to set up and our client makes a decent amount of money without compromising their website functionality or aesthetic appearance.

I can give you a contact name over there if you are interested - just drop me a PM.

Thanks,

Fi
