Comments / ideas for new site

Hi,

I'm new to this forum having just launched a site (businessmule.co.uk) to help small businesses compare banking services. We also provide access to insurance and other business services.

We've got some great commercial deals agreed with the banks for business we introduce but I'm keen to learn more about how we can improve the site and drive traffic to it. Would it make sense for us to become a merchant - we're happy to pay good %'s as commission. In addition, how do we generate awareness from the business community - are there any tried and tested ways?

All ideas welcome, including how to generate responses from the forum - my first effort generated the grand total of 0!!

Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers.

Rob

Rob

I too am new to this forum. I am in the process of setting up a b2b site and would potentially be interested in including the current account calculator (and other banking details) on my site on a revenue share deal.

Your site looks very good to me. But I have a few comments (which hopefully will be helpful). I have used the business current account calculator for a business I have (which is not a web based business) and I found it difficult to accurately classify the business sector using your drop down menu (and to be honest lots of businesses don't seem to fit into easily into any of the categories). Would it be worth at least adding an "other" category? Also, I'm not sure that the calculator is working perfectly in all cases eg on the Abbey account, I think my business would qualify for completely free banking but the results did not reflect this. (Perhaps the calculator doesn't reflect the number of free transactions??) Finally, there is difficulty of reflecting introductory rates. The calculator doesn't seem to entirely consistent eg I think the results I got reflect the higher introductory rate for credit interest on the Abbey account, but don't reflect the free banking for 12 month deals on many of the other accounts.

Chris

Hi Chris,

Not sure if you picked up an email I tried to send to you to thank you for your help - when I selected reply an address for matthew at existem popped up?

If not, here it is below:

Thanks for your email, it's much appreciated.

I'm delighted that you've tried the calculator and very much welcome
your feedback. Certainly we will look to change the drop down options
for business type (this is now done) and we will look immediately at how the transactions
for abbey (and all other banks) are being worked out. These have been
heavily tested but you never can tell for sure I guess that they work
until someone tries it for real!

What type of b2b business are you setting up and when will you be
ready to go live? We are really interested in discussing partnership
opportunities so would welcome a further chat.

Thanks again and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Rob
