Updated Templates...not the usual rubbish !!!!!!!!!!

Just thought I'd post this to say that these guys have some new templates online now.

These are in no way the usual rubbish...NO WAY...
These are fantastic graphic rich (but not slow) templates, tis a veritable feast for the eyes in here...lol

I have not found any that come close to the quality of these ones..no where near.... there is a tutorial if you don't know how to use a template...mmm doubt it but it's there anyway...

so here's the link....

www.templatemonster.com/?aff=ShaneRbn

I signed up as an affiliate on the first visit !! BUT I don't waste my time on things that I don't believe in so take a peek and see for yourself..
lol...quality is awesome...from bout $20..how much time will that save..for just that little..

may sound like a hard sell...
but just go look then tell me if I am wrong....

Have to say that they look great but you only see an image of the template and not the code. I chose one, bought it, downloaded it and then found that it was just about unusuable without a major rewrite - no flexibility for adding content and very poorly coded. They claim that they don't show you working examples in case you pinch the code but on this, admittedly on-off experience, I'm not so convinced. No helpfile or anything, I think they just want you to pay extra to them for adaptations.

yeah I got one which was pretty good and allowed me to throw together a basic site pretty quickly but I got another one that was a nightmare to use and as mentioned above would basically require a rewrite to be worth using.

  Sorry about that guys.

I was going on the ones I bought when I recommended them, they were fine...oops

what was the numbers of the templates you got,

did you complain and if so what did they say?

would be interested to sort it out as it's a shame if the site is a minefield with excellent and poor templates mixed, Let me know the details and I will mail them and ask them what they are playing at.

Am a little sadened by it as the templates are visually fantastic and it would be a shame to discount the site without some follow up off them..

anyway please let me know the above stuff and I will get to the bottom of it as I will be purchasing more templates off them myself if they come back with something tangible.

shaneRbn21, leave an e-mail address and I'll get in touch. Or mail me bert__m@hotmail.com

I did ask them a question about the first one and never got any reply.

to be honest I haven't had a chance to complain yet but if you want to get in touch with them it would be great, I bought them through your affily link after all

  yeah bring it on....:)

sent you an email bertm

if anyone else who has bought a template via one of my links and is unhappy, please leave the template number and what's wrong with it as I will not let this drop with them if they are selling shoddy templates.

Can't promise anything will happen but at the end of the day it's my link so I take it personally if some of their stuff is crap as it affects my reputation..(do I have one yet/now?..hmm lol) anyway I am a little sad that they have some bad templates and seeing as I buy from em too I would like to know what is happening with them.

If they have over 1300 of em you'd think they would have dropped any shoddy ones by now.

anyway get in touch and I will get onto them, I just love a good fight ,
Last one took 14 letters and 3 months to get a £450 refund on a new car with problems.....but I got it...lol..victory tastes sweet,....lol

  Theres hope yet.

I Spoke to a guy called Charles,
was very helpful and agreed to help bertm for free for this template.

He said that all templates are optimized for photoshop, golive etc and can be edited in dreamweaver too, but dreamweaver can cause problems with tables n stuff,

He strongly recommends photoshop rather than dreamweaver, he said he work sort bertm out for free and that normally for all changes to a site he would charge bout $100 all in for javascript rollovers and extensive changes for tables n text etc, so if you are not photoshop coversant and you can't edit it in dreamweaver with any success then another $100 is not too bad I suppose,

I know that when you get a template you expect to be able to get stuck in but if it is a complex one then what options do you have if you are not fully conversant to a semi proffesional level, (then again would you be buying templates or designing from scratch?)

anyway they have an excellent chat facility on the site an I saw a few guys in there sorting out problems they had for free.

anyway they were very responsive and willing to help, I will keep you posted on any other problems and hopefully they look on the ball with problems, It's a good job too as the templates look fantastic and it's a shame if they are crap....was assured that they were not crap but it was more of a photoshop versus dreamweaver problem,

am sure bertm will post any success/ failure anyway..

the guy that said he fully customised templates was called Charles,,
eisdomains on yahoo chat or
ICQ 1309046 or AOL....Cedmunds2002

Had a look at their site, and there are many different contributors of templates (as you'd expect), so there are probably some that rae better than others.
Was very impressed by some of them though, though I'm not sure about recommending photoshop for editing content.

Yeah I agree with you there, on both points

There may be harder to use/badly designed templates mixed in there with the good ones.

I am fluent in Dreamweaver, and fireworks, but Photoshop is another matter, I know what I am doing but it's such a vast program, there are so many ways of doing things that it is mindblowing, I bought the new one and it's awesome, but having said that If I want to do something with a graphic I just go straight to fireworks, so it aint going to get any easier for me lol..I just don't have the time to waste at the moment learning how to use it properly

I did download the tutorial they have and it is a good one, so Have a look at that if you are dubious about using photoshop for it, I was but I still managed to edit the tutorial template to a satisfactory level with Photoshop.

They were very fast at offering to to sort out Bertm's problem although I know he has been very busy and hasn't got around to doing it yet (same story for everyone as of late...lol..where do the hours go...?) and they have a very active chat forum where people were discussing templates and problems...

Nice to know someone thinks like me. Felt a little guilty yesterday when I made a site for a chain company after browsing that site - I didn't mean to copy, but when I was done it looked awfully familiar! Damn my unconcious mind! I'm starting again!

Dreamweaver and Photoshop are two totally different packages and share no functionality. For people looking to another package other than Shop for designing graphics I would heartily recommend Corel PhotoPaint - much easier to use and almost as many features. I use Paint9 (10 is the latest) a lot for postwork for 3D art but it's equally good at image chopping, animated GIFs, and brilliant for exporting and compressing - better than any other package. I also use Illustrator 10, but because it's 10X more difficult to use than Shop - and annoyingly buggy - I've not found it a pleasant learning curve.
