Any recommendations from the more technical peeps on the list..
Tomorrow I have a new system arriving.
Ultimately need to network with old system (win 98 ) to the new (win XP) while installing ADSL modem to the new machine and enabling ICS across the network.
Have instructions to handle ICS.
Although in theory sounds easy anytime I've played with networks it's always screwed up any internet connections in place!
Is there a right order to do this?
ie. Shall I set the new machine up with the ADSL modem first then install the network and ICS. Or network first then ADSL modem. Or doesn't it matter?
Oh, and to add to that the old system is set-up currently as a standalone machine with the ADSL modem - can I just leave it as is and let the network/ICS configure the network and internet connections or will this cause conflicts making me better off to remove them first.
I just know this is going to be a headache which is why Ive put off upgrading for so long
Thanks!
