Newbie questions

Could anyone provide some help/advice re some random complete newbie questions, please?

1) Any advice re inclusion of an easy-to-use 'Add to favourites' script? Never used one before.

2) As above, for within-site searches?

3) HTML text links : can I make them jump to specific words / phrases on other pages? Can I make them jump to specific words /phrases on Word documents/Excel spreadsheets?

4) Some of my content will be dotted with acronyms / abbreviations / technical jargon. Is there any way I can have definitions / full info pop up (on mouse-over or click).
