"Not enough memory available..." in Notepad

'Afternoon. I'm putting another website together, and have started getting the following error message (so frequently that it's stopping me from making any further progress) :

"Not enough memory available to complete this operation. Quit one or more applications to increase available memory, and then try again."

The error message appears randomly (when I copy-and-paste code page-to-page, type even a single character, etc, etc....).
I've only got Windows Explorer and Notepad open. And refreshing doesn't help.

I don't know whether or not this is significant, but I suppose it might be (as this is the first time I've used 'style-sheets' and the first time I've seen this error message) : I'm using a global style-sheet and....what are they called?.......inline styles.

Can anyone tell me what might be causing this, please?

Thanks
Al

Shane seems to know their stuffShane seems to know their stuff
Notepad.exe has never worked when double clicked on my office desktop, it didnt even show up as the notepad icon, just a text file icon, .. was a clean install of XP pro and it never worked from day one,

I initially had to navigate to the file I wanted to use with an already open notepad window,

Now I can't even find it at all.

  Sorted

Thanks for your suggestions.

I may well try some other editor besides Notepad at some stage.

But I think I might've sussed out what was wrong. I think that the error message might have started appearing as I've recently pasted a whacking-great block of Javascript code for a large menu into my pages. I've now deleted the script (I'll paste it back in later, after I've completed the other content), and the error message seems to have ceased popping up.

Another thing I've noticed (although it's not really a problem) is that I can't open my global CSS by double-clicking. I have to navigate to it (Start > Accessories > Notepad, etc).

Thanks again
Al

If you right click on a .css file and choose open with you can set notepad to open all .css files, should then open up with a double click.
