I have a small forum running in a subdomain of one of my sites just as a side project. The last few days have seen a vast increase in the page views and bandwidth used but no increase in visitor numbers so is totally out of proportion. Everytime I visited the site one guest was always listed with the same IP just continually going from page to page. It definitely looks like something automated running round the forum so I blocked the IP at the forum. This didn't stop whatever it was using up the bandwidth so I tried a block in the htaccess file and then found that I couldn't access the forum.
Does that mean this is somehow related to my host? Any thoughts?
