dynamically adding reviews to a site?

Hi,

I am wanting to do this on my reviews site:

enable people to add their own reviews (and/or photos) in a specific category (selecting from a drop-down box) so they can then then be added to the bottom of a specific page that corresponds to the category selected.

I'd want it in php and comments added to a mysql database. and i'd want the output content to be 'crawlable' by the major search engines (which shouldn't be too hard!)

my question is, is there a one sentence phrase to describe what i want done, and also how much would it cost to get someone to do the above for me?

also does anyone have any better ideas to achieve this?

  Mambo CMS

http://www.mamboserver.com

This opensource CMS might be what your looking for - people can register and you can set the permission so they can add 'news' - in your case 'reviews' I just started working with it and it very simple and easy to use. - you need an apache server and mysql to run it.

oh and it's completely FREE.

Matt - not sure on your timescales, but if I wanted something like this and had the time on my hands (no fulltime job) then I would do it myself.

From what it sounds, it should be quite easy.

TABLE#1
Basically, someone joins (so people can view all reviews by this person) and has a profile - this is where I would struggle.

TABLE#2
You create a list of categories

TABLE#3
Peoples reviews.

I would seriously have a go first, but what I find helps, is paper and pen - seriously draw/write it all down first then do it in chunks.

The Dummies Guide to PHP/mySQL should have nearly everything you want to do it in, shown as examples.

If you really don't have the time to go for it, I wouldn't have a clue what price you would be looking at. I wouldn't say a great deal - but depends who/where your scripters are I guess.
