Keyword Tracking - EPI & SID

Hi there. I'm fairly new to this game, please bear with me...

My question is regarding keyword tracking and landing pages.

I've read the previous postings and I've set up SID (CJ) and EPI (TD). This enables me to find out which keywords generate the most revenue.

As I understand, each link with it's EPI or SID is specific to a single keyword. That's great, but if I'm using multiple keywords which all take you to the same page, I'm no further forward!

Is the answer to use a landing page for each keyword? There must be an easier way. Any ideas?

It depends how you are working things:

If you are directing links from say ppc straight to pages on a merchant site you can set the SID or EPI to identify which ppc ad but take the ads to the same landing page on the merchant site - so if you had two Adwords ads you could set the epi in ad one to say 'ad1' and the epi in ad two to say 'ad2'

If you are using links from your own webpages then you can again set the epi to whatever you want for the link between your webpage and the merchant (and have as many links as you want landing on the same merchant page)

What epi and sid wont do though is let you have multiple ads running to multiple pages on your own website and track them - you'll need to develop your own method of tracking those - epi and sid only come into play once you click through to the merchant via the network.

Hope that makes sense.

I've just submitted my TD account for EPI status.

What I was planning on doing was trying to track which keyword phrases, from both natural search and adwords, led to conversions at the network level.

So at my site I would need to
1) Identify the referrer (ie google)
2) Identify the keyword phrase (ie big pants)
3) create a Referrer/Keyword code (ie GOOG_BIG+PANTS)
3) add the referrer/keyword code to my TD links
(ie www.mytdlink.com....&epi=GOOG_BIG+PANTS)

Would that work, or does the epi have to have a specific format?

If I manage to get it to work (I'm a novice php coder), I'd be happy to make it avaliable for others to use.
