  Question I need advice badly

hello, posted once before here. Im now in the process of building my web site. I have been using dreamweaver and photoshop (both latest versions) to build it with no code knowledge what so ever. But Im very very stuck.

Ive built the home page basically in photoshop and have transferred the parts of the home page into a table in dreamweaver. everything matches up nicely (i say nicely, it took a while) but now Im adding content using css and its not doing what I want it to.

Whatever I do, the text is not aligning in the way it should. I mean it does in dreamweaver, but not when previewed in a browser. How do I fix this?

Also, when searching for help here, all I see is "php" everywhere. Am I missing something? What is the benefit of using php? Does any1 here use dreamweaver to make their affiliate sites?

And another thing, I have heard you can build an entire site using css. does that include images and page layout? I dont see how this can be done.

I have literally spent the last 4 days, 13hrs a day trying to build this site and its testing me. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Moore

Would you mind uploading the site so that it can viewed?

Personally I would ignore php for the time being. It's a scripting language that allows your site to have extra functionalilty and also to plug into databases.

Entire sites can be built with css. Basically the style sheet controls all the layout, colours and even images, and this gives you a cleaner html page, as all the stuff like font tags are handled by the style sheet.

At the risk of driving you completley mad, I would also suggest you check your site in the firefox browser as well as explorer. In fact, you could find your text aligns correctly in firefox. Any way take jhoods advice and I'm sure someone on the forum can help you out.

Thanks folks! Appreciate the help. Had a sleep on it and I'm gonna simplify my site and see how I get on, otherwise, I will be back.

If it still doesnt work, I'll will put it on the net so you can see whats wrong with it.

Thanks again
