PHPBB forum log in problems

I have a site with a PHBB forum and am having a problem with it regarding the log in and keeping logged in.
What happens is that to log in usually have to log in once then it will ask yto log in again and it won't keep everyone logged in when they re-visit.
I had this problem but it seems to be working fine for me now but other members are reporting these other problems.

Does anyone have any ideas what the likely problem is going to be? Users are clicking on the "Keep me logged in" box and also other forums they use keep them logged in.

Is annoying and not going to impress any forum members

The problem is due to dynamic IP addresses - usually AOL - so when a user logins and the cookie checks IP vs session it logs them out as they don't match.

If you go to sessions.php and then find

$ip_check_s = substr($userdata['session_ip'], 0, 6);
change this to:
$ip_check_s = substr($userdata['session_ip'], 0, 4);

you should find all is well....

Thanks for the reply Jason, it ended up being something to change with the cookie location but it all working sweet now
