how to uninstall a bodged install?

Hi,

My toolbars weren't working properly, so I uninstalled and tried to install them again. MSN toolbar crashed half way through. I can't uninstall it, as it wasn't installed and I can't install it, as it says it's already installed.

I presume this is a system registry thing and went into regedit.exe. I deleted something called MSNToolbarOutlook, but it made no difference.

Thanks if anyone can help. I didn't know where else to ask.

Cheers
Linda

I used to mess with PC's all the time - if all else fails... make sure your important stuff is backed up, then re-install Windows over the top.... you shouldn't lose any data - but this tends to put you in a better position (fresh start etc.)

Thanks SO much. I used the link you sent, Keith, tried several times over to re-install it and finally sussed it was Norton preventing the install. Once I switched that off, it worked!

Such a relief, as I use the toolbar constantly.

Cheers
