  HTML Photo Gallery

I am building an html website with a photo collection page. I don't need anything flash, but would like to be able to mouse over the photo and a larger image appears. Can anyone tell me how to do this. I have tried creating a new page, but that is too big.

I have searched everywhere for photo gallery software I can use with Dreamweaver MX, but they are all too expensive. I am surprised there isn't one built into Dreamweaver. I know FrontPage has one.
Hope someone can offer some advice.

Photoshop elements, http://www.adobe.co.uk/products/phot...lwin/main.html allows the creation on HTML galleries, not too badly prices compared to full photoshop.

Also doing a search on the Dreamweaver extentions, brings up quite a few products available.

Hi Jean. In Dreamweaver MX2004 you can create an album after a fashion

Commands > Create Web Photo Album

It requires Fireworks to be installed aswell, but a trial version should do okay I think.

You can use an inbuilt Dreamweaver MX behaviour called "Open Browser Window" to control the size of the new Window that is opened.

You can set this behaviour from the Behaviours tab of the Design panel (next to CSS styles tab).

Use a Javascript OnMouseOver (check syntax!) event to control the Window opening. From memory, you will only be able to use the Dreamweaver functionality to set the behaviour as OnClick, you then have to manually edit the JavaScript to use OnMouseOver.

Rgds

Don't panic, Dreamweaver will create the JavaScript for you, and you will only have to make the tiny modification to the event that I mentioned.

If you get stuck let me know and I'll create a demo page for you.

All the best
