Creating a 'members' area login

Hi although Ive been in this affiliate game for around 4 years or so my html skills are still sadly lacking.

I want to create a 'members' only section for my website. So I'd need a username/passeword type of script.

Can anyone recommend any good scripts out there or tutorials?
