  Site Review: www.norfolkbonsai.co.uk

I have a Niche site aimed at Bonsai Trees. Could anyone give me some advice on the site and what (if any) Affiliate marketing I could use? Or any other advice would be welcome.

This is my first site.

Why don't you try and get some stock, or find a supplier that could act as a dropshipper for you?

Thanks for the reply Krush. I do an an Amazon aStore which I have just started but I don't really want to get into buying stock as I have little capital and no time to do this.

Do you have any other idea's which could help with adsense, SEO, webdesign?

Thanks

I'd lose the drop shadow and try to stay with a consistent typeface for your header.

Think: readability.

Your site looks very news oriented - it would be worthwhile having an obvious box on the front page where visitors could subscribe to an email newsletter. Then every month (say) you could send out your latest articles in the form of the newsletter (I see you have 'register' and RSS feed options, but these arent very obvious). In the newsletter you could then also promote a few relevant products.

Sorry this doesn't help with what products you could promote, but having an active newsletter readership does mean that you'll have regular contact with an audience of people interested in bonsai to market to.

Thanks for the comments. The banner/Header with the drop shadow was an advert for one of the retailers who offered a competition prize to our members.. I guess this isn't very clear so I'll look into ways of making the advert more clear. Thanks for your suggestion.

Jubes: Good idea about the Newletter, I haven't really look into making one but I guess it would be pretty simple to do and a good way of advertising. Any idea's about where you would place the newsletter signup on the page?

Thanks again for all your suggestions

I'd put it at the top of the page, perhaps even in your banner so its one of the first things a site visitor sees - take a look at www.wildlifeextra.com (not my site BTW) to see the sort of thing I mean - its prominent, but doesn't get in the way. By putting it on the banner you can also then quite easily put it on every page, so visitors have more opportunities to sign up (more opportunities should mean more likelihood). I'm working on my first site too at the moment so I'm by no means an expert but hopefully this will be of some help

Best of luck!
