linking pagerank affiliate templates with php

Hi, i have recently upgraded my web server to a linux operating system instead of a windows one.

My webserer enabled me to use php but everytime i try to run one of the scripts it wont work all i get is access denied once i forward a domain to the index.php page.

the php site is in the php_uploads folder on my webserver and i am using pagerank10 scripts.

I read on my server help file something about php and security reasons you cannot link the whole file direct, you have to include thephp in a html document or something.

Can somebody explain to me what i need to do to get these scripts working.

Put the script in the root of the domain or inside a folder of the root of the domain
dont know what php_uploads folder is or where its located but if its inside a domain root folder itll work

php runs in the domain folders and not outside them so i think this is what your doing

ok so i just put it in the main route directory not the php_uploads folder, on my server theres different folders for different languages such as asp and cgi.

My when i link it to the correct directory and to the index.php file it says access denied and my web server says something to do with for security reasons you cannot link straight to the file, im not sure if this is on about php files or what.

if i open the index.php and edit it to turn it into html and add php scripts within it and then save the file will it then work?

so for example the link would be like this:

www.yoursite.com/php_uploads/index.php

seems like it doesnt like being linked directly to a php file
