alternative to target=_"blank" or frames?

Hi, I have a site with a large range of products from several affiliates. Currently I use target="_blank" to leave my page on their browser. I was looking at opening a framed page over my current page with a navigation frame at the top and the affiliates lower down but that appears to be a non-starter if what I have read in this forum is correct. Can target"_blank" be used so that only two windows are used, my site and one blank page which is overwritten when another link on my site is used? If so how is this done and will it delete the cookie if a different merchant is selected. I want to keep all of the cookies on the visitors computer from all of the affiliates they visit. Is there any other was of controlling the number of pages opened?

The only way (that I'm aware of anyway) to have pages opening in already open windows in to invoke (the dreaded) javascript popup method..

That way you can name the window that you're opening and target it with the next page that you wish to open.

I don't think this will affect cookies... but will obviously cause problems with popup blockers!

use target="usesame"

for each and it should always open the link in that original one it opened as long as you use the same file name...
