  Dreamweaver images help please!

Hi

I'm helping my sis set up a website, all the work is done and launche dit but none of the images are displaying! Have checked the link path and it all seems normal, however I wonder if the desginer (who I can't get hold of!) did something in CSS which specifies where the images should be.

I've tried to FTP but when I do I get a DW warning that says 'Warning, the images folder is not inside the site' even though to my eye they are. if anyone has any suggestions, would be really grateful!

Thanks

Simon

Check that you are uploading the Images folder to the web directory of the site, not the root.

It will be public_html or www, most likely.

In DW edit the site settings, Remote Info tab, host directory, put the name of the web directory in the box, and upload the whole site to there.

It could be that the site is in a file folder and images are in a folder held in my documents or on c drive.

In DW look at site - manage sites - edit - advanced - local info

You may find that the image folder is not in the folder shown under "local info"

When uploaded - right-click on the images that aren't showing and see what the location it refers to is

Check that the image paths and image names are all lower-case and with no gaps; if they're not, some browsers won't read them.

Cheers

Check that all relevant files are in your root directory. In fact, check that you have a root directory. If you have CSS everything should be in the .img file, so if it's not appearing and/or being read, it's a pathproblem. Try copying the .img fiile to your root directory.
