Short term payments solution

We're running a one-off local event and need to charge for attendance. 40-50 people at around 30 quid a seat is the sort of scale we're looking at.

Are there any suitable payment solutions that look a bit more professional than just paypal without breaking the bank?

Nochex might be worth a try, checkout my site www.ipodminibattery.com run through the motions of ordering any battery to get through to the Nochex payment page. You won't get it integrated into your site, but with the right logo at the top it won't look too out of place

Looks good enough for a one-off. If we start doing more I can put more effort behind an integrated version.

Had a few problems using it in Firefox though.
I fill in all the billing details, choose the delivery area as UK on the next page and hit the checkout button, it just sends me back to the billing details page again.

IE7 was fine, you may want to have a look.

I can also recommend Nochex (it's used by some of our merchants), as a short-term solution. No need for a merchant account, although as you may expect, costings are a little higher.
