  PHP mail() in Windows

I'm having trouble sending emails with the PHP mail() function on a fasthosts Windows server.

Initially any mail that I tried to send to an address other than to one on the same server gave me the resonse 551: Bad recipient.

I've added

PHP Code:
ini_set("SMTP","mail.myurl.com");
ini_set("sendmail_from""sales@myurl.com");
The error message has now disappearet but the mail is still not getting through.

Any help would be appreciated.

are you able to check the badmail directory to see if it's gone in there? Or it might be spam filtering at the far end - do you have a message and a body? Have you tried sending to a few different addresses. Perhaps adding an SPF record to your dns would help.

best of luck

  Re: PHP mail() in Windows

The problems I've had in the past regarding mail() on Windows is that my message had linebreaks of simply \n, whereas Windows requires \r\n

Thanks for your suggestions but no luck.

I've tried to send to many email accounts so that is not the problem. It works when I send to sales@myurl.com so the format is correct.

I think it could be the way the SMTP was set up on the server so I'm wading through the microsoft knowledge base to see if there is a problem there.

regards
