I've no idea if this will do what you want - but as a basic tell a friend script it's worked for me and I've not had any problems from it.

If you want a really simple, highly customizable solution you can look at siphs.com. You can be up and running in less than 10 minutes. Just register your site, add the code, and then you will be able to customize the email look and feel to match the site you are installing it on.
