After spending all day wrestling with the new Wordpress Version 2.3 download, I thought I'd warn those of you who were thinking of doing the same.
Despite this version being available (albeit in beta and full release versions) for 4 months, there are still some major bugs relating to cookies and browser compatability. The Wordpress forum is littered with posts looking for support.
It got so bad that I've reverted to the previous 2.2 version. I know some people have had no issues ( mac users? ) but I wanted to warn those of you who were thinking of doing this upgrade - check the Wordpress forums first!
I don't think I've had any issues yet but my sidebar lists (see affiliate blog) look crap in IE.. I thought it was just my rubbish CSS coding and IE being a sod as usual with my code; what is affected in browser compatibility that is the fault of WordPress and not my coding?
Its the Cookie command apparently. Those who suffer from this error (myself included!) get an error message saying that you can't login as cookies need to be enabled - despite the setting in the browser being correct.
For once it's not just IE. I tried it in FF and had the same issues. Safari is affected too.
