About Commission Junction
Commission Junction is an online advertising network which specialises in Affiliate Marketing and is one of the leading affiliate networks in the UK.
Commission Junction has over 1,500 merchants. Advertisers for the UK market include Argos, HSBC, O2, Lastminute.com, and Thomas Cook.
Founded in 1998, the network has offices around the globe including the UK, Germany, France, Sweden and USA.
In 2001 Commission Junction openly published the performance metrics of all advertisers, publishers and ads within their network. This allowed advertisers and publishers to assess the value of their existing relationships and negotiate new ones based on two key metrics, average earnings per 100 clicks (EPC) and network earnings.
ValueClick, one of the world’s largest integrated online marketing companies, acquired Commission Junction in 2003 for US $58 million in cash and stock. Other businesses in the ValueClick stable include PriceRunner (the price comparison service), Mediaplex (the adserving and multi-channel tracking company) and ValueClick Media (display advertising network).
Commission Junction University
Commission Junction hosts an affiliate marketing conference in Europe: Commission Junction University Europe. There is also a CJU every year in the United States.
CJU provides both an opportunity for publishers and advertisers to network alongside third party vendors and participate in informative seminars, educational sessions and panel discussions about Commission Junction and affiliate marketing in general.
Commission Junction Awards
In 2002, Commission Junction launched the Commission Junction Awards at CJU in Santa Barbara.
The awards represent Commission Junction’s core values of people, innovation, greatness and global vision.
Each year Commission Junction presents the awards to their choice of the most innovative and effective advertisers and publishers in the affiliate marketing industry.
